Police Nab Three Major Drug Kingpins in Jigawa, Recover Large Cache of Narcotics

The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended three notorious drug traffickers following a series of intelligence-driven operations carried out across the state.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, the arrests were made on October 18, 2025, after weeks of surveillance on the suspects who were allegedly involved in large-scale drug distribution networks within and outside Jigawa.

According to SP Shiisu, the coordinated raids led to the recovery of a significant quantity of illicit drugs, including 13,505 tablets of Exol, 1,583 tablets of D5, 3,572 Tramadol capsules, 565 Diazepam tablets, 2,469 containers of Rubber Solution, 886 wraps and one block of Cannabis (Indian Hemp), as well as Suck and Die, Akuskura, Farin Malam (340 sachets), and over 1,000 other hard substances.

The arrested suspects — identified as Muhammad Garba, Musa Garba, and Hudu Ma’ilu, all from Guneri village in Malamawa District, Niger Republic — are currently in custody as investigations continue.

SP Shiisu added that the suspects will face prosecution upon the completion of preliminary investigations.

Commending the officers involved in the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police reiterated the command’s firm commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes in Jigawa.

He also appealed to the public to continue supporting security agencies with credible intelligence to help track down criminal elements and maintain peace in the state.
