Police Launch Investigation as NCAA Petitions Over Kwam 1’s Alleged Unruly Conduct at Abuja Airport

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has received a formal petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, accused of unruly behaviour that reportedly disrupted the safe operation of an aircraft.
According to the NCAA, the alleged incident occurred on August 5, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, constituting a violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations 2023.
In response, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command to launch a comprehensive investigation to determine the facts and ensure due legal process.
“The Force hereby assures the public of its commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, while assuring stakeholders of improved collaboration towards aviation security and strict compliance with aviation laws,” said Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement issued from Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The investigation will focus on verifying the circumstances surrounding the reported misconduct and whether it breached aviation safety protocols.
