Police Inspector Found Dead in Ogun Hotel, Woman Flees Scene

Akute, Ogun State – A police inspector, identified as Haruna Mohammed, was found dead at Super G Royal Hotel, located at Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute, Ogun State.
According to reports, Inspector Mohammed checked into the hotel with a woman at about 1:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025. However, by morning, he was found lifeless, while the woman had vanished.
Hotel Staff Discovers Officer’s Body
The hotel manager, Deborah Adejobi, revealed that the officer’s body was discovered at 8:52 AM, with the hotel room door left unlocked. Hotel owner Abiodun Olagunju disclosed that the mysterious woman had earlier visited the reception at 6:00 AM to request table water before disappearing.
Police Launch Investigation
Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that the deceased officer was attached to the Ishashi Police Division in Lagos State.
“At first, it was only his uniform found in his bag, making it difficult to confirm his identity as a police officer. There was no identification card on him or among his belongings,” Odutola said.
The inspector’s body has been deposited at Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe, while police have launched a manhunt for the fleeing woman.
Similar Incident in Sagamu
In a separate case, police are also investigating the death of 51-year-old Sunday Abidoye, whose body was found in a hotel room in Sagamu. His brother, Jimoh Godday, discovered his lifeless body using a spare key. Authorities have since collected evidence and are preparing for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
As investigations into both cases continue, authorities are urging hotels to enhance security measures to prevent similar incidents.
