Police Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects, Retrieve Gun and Stolen Bike in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspected armed robbers and recovered a locally fabricated firearm along with a stolen motorcycle during a security operation in Nasarawa town.

The suspects, identified as Isaac Audu and Jamilu Yusuf, were arrested by operatives of the Nasarawa Division over alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Command’s spokesperson, preliminary findings indicate that the suspects, armed with a homemade gun, allegedly attacked a resident in the Foundation Area behind the Federal Polytechnic Staff School, Nasarawa, in the early hours of Saturday, December 20, 2025.

During the incident, the suspects reportedly robbed the victim of an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle.

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives swiftly tracked and arrested the duo shortly after the robbery. The locally made firearm used in the operation and the stolen motorcycle were recovered during the arrest.

Confirming the development, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, praised the prompt response and professionalism of the officers involved. He urged personnel of the command to sustain proactive and vigilant policing to curb criminal activities.

The police boss further assured residents of Nasarawa State of strengthened security, especially during the Yuletide period, reaffirming the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
