Polaris Bank Plants Trees at Lekki Conservation Centre, Targets Greener Nigeria

Polaris Bank has strengthened its environmental sustainability efforts with a tree-planting exercise at the Lekki Conservation Centre, Lagos, in partnership with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF).
The initiative builds on the bank’s nationwide programme launched in 2024, which has recorded 10,000 trees planted across 16 locations in the FCT and 13 states. The bank says the programme aims to promote climate action, restore degraded land and support community development.
Abimbola Ozomah, Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking at Polaris Bank, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to turning sustainability goals into measurable environmental and social impact.
She added that planting economic trees could improve soil fertility, increase vegetation cover and create potential income opportunities for communities as the trees mature.
