Plateau Cleric Leads Fresh Mass Burial After Deadly Attack, Repeats Genocide Allegations

A Plateau-based cleric, Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, on Saturday presided over another mass burial in Ratoso Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area following a deadly attack on the community.

The burial followed an assault by suspected terrorists who reportedly stormed the area and opened fire on miners, killing no fewer than 12 people on the spot. Several other residents were said to be missing after the attack.

During the mass burial, Rev. Dachomo, in a video that has since circulated widely on social media, called on residents to take steps to defend themselves whenever they come under attack.

According to him, self-preservation is a fundamental right, urging community members to do all they can to survive while trusting God for help.

The cleric has recently drawn national attention after alleging that Christians in Nigeria are facing genocide. Despite strong reactions and denials from the Presidency and other stakeholders, Dachomo has maintained his position.

He insisted that Islamic extremist groups are targeting Christian communities and are determined to wipe them out, a claim that has continued to spark widespread debate across the country.
