Ila-Orangun, Osun State — July 22, 2025 – Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has firmly denied rumors suggesting he is planning to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that he remains fully committed to the party under which he was elected.

Governor Adeleke made the declaration on Monday during the flag-off ceremony of the dualisation of the 3.5km Ila Township Road in Ila-Orangun, a project he described as part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure development.

“I was elected on the platform of the PDP and so shall I remain. I’m not going anywhere,” Adeleke stated while addressing community leaders, stakeholders, and party supporters at the event.

He emphasized that his administration is focused on serving the people of Osun State, and that no distractions or political speculations will derail his commitment. “I have made a vow to God and the good people of Osun to serve with all my heart. Nothing will distract me from this mission,” he added.

He promised that the current phase would be completed within 12 months, showcasing his administration’s efficiency and dedication.

Political Commitment and Public Assurance

Addressing the political speculation surrounding his loyalty to the PDP, Adeleke declared:
“Our gathering here today marks a new era of progress. This is not a coincidence — we are all walking the path destined by Almighty God. I will not be swayed by distractions or unfounded rumors.”

He reaffirmed that his government will continue to prioritize infrastructure, community development, and transparent governance, regardless of the political climate in the country.

Conclusion

Governor Adeleke’s public reaffirmation of his PDP membership puts to rest growing speculation of a potential defection. As his administration moves forward with key development projects, the governor insists his focus remains firmly on delivering impactful governance to the people of Osun State.
