Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has dismissed rumours suggesting he plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the speculation as false and politically motivated.

According to him, the rumour was fabricated by opponents worried about his growing influence and popularity across the state.

Governor Adeleke made it clear that he remains firmly rooted in the PDP and is preparing to seek re-election on the party’s platform in 2026.

“The claim that I am defecting to ADC is baseless and a deliberate attempt to mislead the people of Osun,” the statement read.
“Governor Adeleke is fully committed to the PDP and has no intention of joining ADC or any other political party.”

He urged the public to disregard the reports, assuring them that the PDP in Osun is already mobilising to ensure his second-term bid succeeds.
