Ondo Woman Found Dead in Hotel as Male Companion Disappears

The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of an unidentified woman whose body was discovered in a hotel room in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.
The woman was found lifeless on Wednesday in a hotel along the Ore-Okitipupa Road. Her male companion, who had checked in with her, was missing when hotel staff discovered the body.
A hotel worker, speaking anonymously due to the sensitivity of the case, said the pair checked in together earlier in the day, but the woman was later found unresponsive in the room. The man had already fled the scene.
“They came in together, but when staff entered the room, the woman was already lying lifeless on the bed, and the man was gone. We immediately alerted the authorities,” the employee explained.
The staff noted that no visible injuries or signs of violence were apparent in the room.
Confirming the case, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said detectives are actively tracking down the fleeing man.
“Yes, the incident was reported, and an investigation has begun. We are working to identify and apprehend the man who fled,” Ayanlade stated.
The woman’s body has been taken to a local morgue as police continue their inquiries.
