The Benin Royal Palace, after a thorough investigation, found Igbinovia’s actions to be in direct violation of Benin customs and traditional laws. His removal was announced by Chief Osaro Idah, the Obazelu of Benin, during a meeting with Okhuoromi community elders led by the Odionwere (village head), Pa. Oghagbon Edosomwan, who has now been appointed to oversee the community’s affairs.

“The Benin Kingdom stands firmly against land-related crimes and will ensure justice is served,” the monarch stated. He encouraged all victims of the land grabbing and extortion incidents to come forward with credible evidence, including photos and videos, to aid further investigation.
