The Jigawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it successfully prosecuted 125 cases involving rape, vandalism, theft, murder, culpable homicide and other civil and criminal offences between January and December 2025.

The State Commandant, Mr. Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the Command’s achievements and operational challenges in the outgoing year. He explained that a proactive crime-prevention strategy adopted by the Corps contributed significantly to a decline in criminal activities when compared to 2024.

According to Ingawa, the Command also trained more than 9,000 private security guards deployed for school protection and the safeguarding of public and private facilities across the state.

He further revealed that NSCDC operatives foiled over 30 attempted vandalism incidents targeting electricity installations, water supply systems and other critical public infrastructure, leading to several recoveries.

The Commandant commended the Jigawa State Government, sister security agencies and members of the public for their cooperation and support, which he said enhanced the Command’s effectiveness.

Ingawa reaffirmed the NSCDC’s determination to sustain peace, protect critical assets and promote security in Jigawa State and Nigeria at large.
