Nottingham Forest are expected to announce Ange Postecoglou as their new manager today following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Nuno’s exit, confirmed late Monday night, came after weeks of tension with club owner Evangelos Marinakis and disagreements with sporting director Edu Gaspar over transfer decisions.

According to John Percy of The Telegraph, Marinakis has already chosen Postecoglou as the new head coach, with confirmation expected before the end of Tuesday. The Greek-Australian, who guided Tottenham Hotspur to a Europa League triumph before parting ways with the North London club in June, is set to sign a deal running until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Postecoglou, 60, endured mixed results at Spurs, winning European silverware but losing 39 of his 101 matches in charge. Despite that, he has remained Marinakis’ top target and is now set for a Premier League return.

If confirmed, Postecoglou’s first game in charge will be against Arsenal this Saturday, a clash that adds extra intrigue given his recent Spurs connection.

Forest fans, however, appear divided over the appointment. While the club will highlight Postecoglou’s European success, some supporters remain loyal to Nuno, who secured European football for Forest for the first time in 30 years. Others question whether Postecoglou’s attacking high-line system will suit a squad built around Nuno’s defensive approach.

The coming weeks will reveal whether the new boss adapts his style or stays firm to his philosophy as Forest enter a crucial phase of the season.
