Abuja, Nigeria — July 22, 2025 – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a significant financial milestone, reporting N4.571 trillion in revenue and a profit after tax (PAT) of N905 billion for the month of June 2025.

The disclosure was made public through a summary performance report shared on the company’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.

The state-owned oil giant also revealed that it remitted N6.961 trillion in statutory payments to the Federation Account between January and May 2025 — underscoring its central role in funding Nigeria’s economy.

Oil Output Hits Five-Month High

According to the report, crude oil and condensate production surged to 1.68 million barrels per day (mbpd) in June, the highest output recorded since January 2025. This marks a steady rise from 1.63 mbpd in May and 1.61 mbpd in April.

  • Crude oil production alone accounted for 1.42 mbpd
  • Condensates made up the remaining 0.26 mbpd

Despite the increase in production, crude oil and condensate sales dipped slightly to 21.68 million barrels in June, down from 24.77 million barrels in May. The highest monthly sales volume so far in 2025 remains February, with 25.31 million barrels sold.

Natural Gas Output on the Rise

NNPCL’s report also highlighted a recovery in Nigeria’s gas sector, with natural gas production reaching 7.581 billion standard cubic feet per day (scf/d) in June. This figure marks a consistent upward trend from 7.352 billion scf/d in May and 6.615 billion scf/d in February, indicating sustained growth in gas output.

Infrastructure and Refinery Updates

Further operational data shared in the report include:

  • Petrol availability at NNPCL retail stations stood at 71%
  • Pipeline infrastructure availability across the upstream network was 97%
  • The OB3 gas pipeline project reached 96% completion
  • The Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project stood at 83% completion
  • Ongoing review and rehabilitation works continue at the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries

NNPCL’s impressive revenue and profit figures, along with rising crude and gas output, signal robust performance in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector amid ongoing infrastructure development. The company’s strong financial and operational indicators bolster confidence in its contribution to Nigeria’s economic recovery and energy stability.
