The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has announced the suspension of the Monday sit-at-home directive across South-East Nigeria, calling on residents to resume normal economic and academic activities.
In the message, Kanu appealed to traders, workers, students, and business owners to go about their lawful duties without fear, stressing the need for stability and the protection of livelihoods in the region.
The development is expected to ease long-standing disruptions to commercial activities and school calendars across the South-East, where sit-at-home orders have significantly affected daily life.
Residents have been advised to remain peaceful and law-abiding as communities return to routine activities, while stakeholders hope the decision will help restore confidence and normalcy in the zone.
