Nigerians Lament as Cooking Gas Price Climbs to N1,500 Per Kg
Nigerians are expressing frustration over the fresh increase in the price of cooking gas, which has reportedly risen to about N1,500 per kilogram, worsening the economic hardship across the country.
The latest hike has added more pressure on households already struggling with rising fuel costs, food inflation, insecurity, poor electricity supply, bad roads, and expensive healthcare and education.
Many residents said the continuous increase in the cost of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), popularly known as cooking gas, is making life unbearable for low-income families who now find it difficult to refill their gas cylinders.
Some consumers called on the Federal Government to urgently intervene and introduce measures that would reduce the price of cooking gas and ease the suffering of citizens.
According to several Nigerians, the rising cost of living is forcing many families to return to firewood and charcoal for cooking due to the unaffordable gas prices.
