Nigerians Abroad Can Grow Wealth in Nigeria Through Diaspora Banking
Nigerians living abroad are increasingly looking beyond remittances to explore ways of saving, investing and growing their wealth in Nigeria.
With diaspora inflows remaining significant, Fidelity Bank is positioning its Diaspora Fixed Deposit as an option for eligible customers who want their funds to earn returns while being reserved for future needs.
The product allows eligible customers to place funds in Naira, US Dollars, British Pounds or Euros, with different tenor options ranging from 30 days to one year, depending on the currency.
Fidelity Bank says eligible Naira deposits can earn up to 12.5% per annum, while eligible US Dollar deposits can earn up to 7% per annum, subject to applicable rates, deposit amounts, tenor and terms.
The bank says the offering is designed to help Nigerians abroad manage funds for property purchases, education, business plans, family commitments and other long-term financial goals.
The initiative reflects a broader shift in diaspora banking—from simply sending money home to saving, preserving and growing wealth across borders.
