Nigerian Navy Raids Illegal Refining Sites in Delta

During the operation, the Navy discovered and deactivated two illegal refining sites.
Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, the Commanding Officer of FOB Escravos, who led the raid, told journalists that the sites contained approximately 5,500 litres of stolen crude oil and 2,000 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO). These were stored in one oven, nine pits, and 28 polythene sacks.
“This successful operation, which is part of Operation Delta Sanity II, was based on credible intelligence,” Okoloagu stated.
He emphasized that the fight against crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other economic sabotage was crucial to increasing Nigeria’s daily crude oil production.
Just two weeks earlier, operatives of FOB Escravos had uncovered and dismantled three illegal refining sites in Obodo, Omadinho community, also in Warri South West LGA.
