Nigerian Army Raids Illegal Arms Factory in Plateau’s Barkin Ladi, Seizes Locally-Made Weapons

The raid was conducted on Wednesday by troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace after receiving credible intelligence about an active gun-manufacturing syndicate in the area.
In a statement issued by Maj. Samson Zhakom, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for 3 Division, the military confirmed that one suspect was arrested during the operation, while other collaborators managed to escape before troops arrived.
The Army stated that efforts are underway to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle the wider network involved in the illegal arms trade.
Authorities noted that the discovery underscores the Army’s determination to curb the spread of illegal firearms fueling insecurity in Plateau and other parts of the country.
