Nigeria Info FM presenter, Deborah Ohamara, dies in Abuja auto crash
Deborah Ohamara, a radio presenter with Nigeria Info FM, has died in a fatal road accident in Abuja.
She met her end after her car collided with a sand-laden heavy-duty truck along the busy Airport Road in Lugbe
Though the details of the accident are still hazy, she was said to have been hit by another car from behind while she was driving along the airport axis forcing her to ram into the truck.
She reportedly died from the injuries she sustained from the mishap.
Recounting the incident, a Facebook user, Nten Ekpang, said, “A car hit Deborah Ohamara from behind while she was driving and she rammed into a moving trailer. She died from injuries sustained from the crash.
Sharing a video from the accident, he wrote, “The accident that claimed the life of Deborah Ohamara along Airport Road in Abuja”
Nigeria Info 95.1 FM, also confirmed Ohamara’s death, describing her as a brilliant broadcast.
The media company wrote, “We sadly announce the passing of Deborah Ohamara (Debbie) a brilliant and loved broadcaster with Nigeria Info Abuja.
“We opened a condolence register below.”
The incident which occurred by 3pm on Monday around popular Aso Estate junction Lugbe, caused traffic gridlock, on the expressway
Ohamara, popularly described as the golden voice of Naija Info due to her enchanting on-air presence, was a native of Cross River State.
She started her career as a newscaster with the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation, CRBC TV, and served as a presenter on 105.5 Paradise FM Calabar.
