Abuja, Nigeria — July 16, 2025 – The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that all applications for the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) must be submitted exclusively through its new online portal, https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng, starting August 1, 2025.

This digital transition is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to reform Nigeria’s immigration processes by increasing transparency, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the overall user experience for expatriates and corporate organizations.

According to a statement signed by A.S. Akinlabi, the Service Public Relations Officer, the current manual application process for CERPAC will be fully discontinued by July 31, 2025. From August 1, physical forms will no longer be accepted.

The NIS emphasized that this move to a fully digital platform will streamline application procedures, reduce processing time, and ensure better accountability across the system.

Members of the public and stakeholders in the expatriate community are advised to direct all inquiries and concerns about the new digital process to the Public Relations Office at the NIS Headquarters in Abuja.

This development marks a major step in Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, particularly in the area of immigration and residence permit processing.
