The National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA) has awarded its highest professional distinction—Fellowship status—to leading figures in Nigeria’s financial and corporate sectors, including Kayode Lawal, Managing Director/CEO of Polaris Bank, and Yetunde Oni, Managing Director/CEO of Union Bank of Nigeria.
The investiture ceremony, held at the Muson Centre, celebrated excellence in credit administration, governance, and financial leadership across the industry.
Also conferred with the Professional Fellowship was Olushola Momoh, Vice Chairman of Channels Television, in recognition of her leadership impact.
Meanwhile, Awa Ibraheem, Founder of Xpress Payment Solutions Ltd, received an Honorary Fellowship for his strategic contributions to Nigeria’s payments and financial innovation ecosystem.
NICA noted that the Fellowship—its most prestigious honour—is reserved for leaders whose work has strengthened Nigeria’s credit culture, institutional governance, and financial system integrity. The ceremony drew senior executives, regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
Commending Mr. Lawal, a representative of the Institute said his record of integrity, discipline, and strategic leadership exemplifies the values NICA promotes. The recognition further adds to his professional accolades, following his earlier Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in November 2025 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, Iganmu, Lagos.
In his response, Mr. Lawal thanked the Institute and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing responsible finance, strong governance, and sustainable growth within the banking and credit ecosystem. Polaris Bank described the honour as a milestone reflecting its focus on professionalism, innovation, and ethical leadership.
The event featured formal investiture rites, goodwill messages, and recognition of excellence across Nigeria’s credit management and financial services community.
