Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered and dismantled a synthetic cannabis manufacturing site in Ibadan, Oyo State, arresting two suspects believed to be key players in the illegal drug trade.
The raid, carried out in the Badeku area, led to the arrest of Jimoh Nurudeen, 40, described by the agency as a major distributor of synthetic drugs in Ibadan, alongside his alleged accomplice, Ogundipe Yusuf, 27. Items recovered include eight litres of chemical precursors, assorted drug-making equipment, and ₦7,408,400 in cash.
NDLEA also seized two luxury vehicles—a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a Toyota Highlander—suspected to be proceeds of illicit activities. According to the agency, the facility was used to produce “Colorado,” a highly potent and dangerous synthetic cannabis.
In a related operation, NDLEA’s Marine Command intercepted Eze Nodebechi Austin on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Yekeme in Badagry shortly after his arrival from Côte d’Ivoire. A search of his belongings reportedly uncovered 31 wraps of cocaine concealed inside a handbag.
The agency reaffirmed its resolve to clamp down on drug trafficking networks nationwide.
