Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspected armed robbers wanted for multiple criminal activities across the state.

The suspects, Kabiru Isah and Monday Bulus, were arrested by the command’s Anti-Robbery Unit on January 10, 2026, in Lafia following actionable intelligence.

Police spokesperson SP Ramhan Nansel stated that the suspects were intercepted around Azuba Centre, a Lafia suburb, where they were reportedly planning another robbery. “The suspects were under close surveillance before their arrest,” he added.

During the operation, officers recovered a G3 rifle without a serial number. A follow-up raid on January 11, 2026, led to the recovery of a pump-action rifle linked to the suspects.

“Acting on credible intelligence, our operatives arrested two notorious armed robbery suspects listed on the command’s wanted list for several previous attacks across the state,” Nansel said. Investigations revealed that the suspects had entered Lafia intending to carry out another robbery before being intercepted by police.

Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the operatives for their professionalism and bravery. He also ordered a thorough investigation and directed officers to maintain pressure on criminal elements across the state.

The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
