Napoli President Rejects Galatasaray’s Move for Osimhen in Heated Transfer Talks

Naples, Italy — July 16, 2025Tensions have reportedly escalated between Napoli and Galatasaray during negotiations for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, following explosive claims by Turkish football pundit Ugur Karakullukçu.

Osimhen, 26, delivered a stellar season on loan at Galatasaray, netting 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. His performances helped the Turkish giants clinch a domestic double, sparking interest in a permanent deal.

However, according to Karakullukçu, talks between both clubs have hit a brick wall due to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ firm stance against selling the forward.

Speaking on the matter, Karakullukçu revealed what he described as a fiery exchange during negotiations. “While Galatasaray’s delegation was in Italy to discuss a permanent transfer for Osimhen, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis told the intermediary on his boat, ‘Tell them I’m not selling to Galatasaray. They should get lost,’” Karakullukçu said via Habersarikirmizi.

“He didn’t exactly say ‘get lost’—his words were even harsher. I’m just putting it mildly,” he added.

The outburst reportedly came as Galatasaray attempted to negotiate favorable terms following Osimhen’s loan spell. Despite the striker’s success in Turkey, Napoli appears unwilling to allow him leave permanently—at least not to Galatasaray.

Osimhen initially joined Napoli in 2020 and became a key player before going on loan last season. His form in Turkey has now sparked fresh transfer speculation, but De Laurentiis’ reported comments suggest a deal with Galatasaray is highly unlikely.

As it stands, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, with other European clubs now expected to monitor the situation closely.
