Napoli President Receives Death Threats Amid Victor Osimhen Transfer Dispute with Galatasaray

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and his son, Edo De Laurentiis, have reportedly received death threats from an individual claiming to be a Galatasaray supporter, as tensions escalate over the unresolved transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
According to Football Italia, the threats were delivered via WhatsApp to Edo De Laurentiis, allegedly from a person identifying as a member of the Turkish Mafia. The chilling message warned: “Let Osimhen go or you are finished.” The intimidation appears to be an attempt to pressure the Napoli leadership into accepting Galatasaray’s proposal for a permanent transfer.
Turkish journalist Samet Çayır made the message public, revealing that both father and son have been targeted amid the high-stakes negotiations. The threats have added a disturbing layer to what is already a complex and heated transfer saga.
Victor Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, delivered a remarkable performance—scoring 37 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 appearances. His explosive form has prompted Galatasaray to pursue a permanent deal, with the club eager to retain him ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
However, talks between the Turkish champions and Napoli have stalled. Napoli are demanding the full €75 million release clause, with at least €50 million paid upfront. Galatasaray, on the other hand, have proposed an initial payment of €40 million, with the remaining €35 million deferred until 2027.
