MTN Targets Diesel Exit with 34MW Solar Deal Across Critical Network Sites

MTN has signed a major 34MW solar energy deal aimed at reducing reliance on diesel power across its critical network infrastructure. The initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy to cut operational costs, improve energy efficiency, and transition toward cleaner, more sustainable power sources.

The rollout will cover key network sites where diesel generators have traditionally been the primary source of electricity, especially in off-grid and unstable power locations. The shift to solar is expected to improve uptime, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance service reliability for customers.
