May Edochie Sues Yinka Theisen, Seeks ₦500m Damages Over Alleged Defamation and Cyberbullying

May Edochie, estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has initiated legal proceedings against Yinka Theisen, the former partner of Yul’s elder brother, Linc Edochie, accusing her of defamation, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
In a formal notice issued by her legal team, Graylaw Partners, May alleged that Yinka has persistently published damaging and malicious posts about her on social media.
According to the letter, the posts contained false claims intended to ridicule and discredit May, while also exposing her to safety risks and emotional trauma through targeted online harassment.
Her lawyers further argued that Yinka’s actions encouraged third parties to amplify the defamatory content, thereby worsening the reputational harm May has endured.
Through the legal notice, May is demanding that Yinka:
- Immediately cease publishing defamatory material about her.
- Withdraw all harmful and false posts.
- Issue a public apology.
- Publish retractions across all platforms where the claims were circulated.
In addition, May Edochie is seeking ₦500 million in damages as compensation for the alleged harm caused by the defamatory statements and cyber harassment.
