Osimhen, who impressed during a loan spell at Galatasaray last season with 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances, is now back on the radar of several top European clubs. Galatasaray were unable to secure a permanent deal, while Saudi giants Al-Hilal failed to reach personal terms with the player, leaving the door open for a Premier League switch.
According to French outlet FootMercato, Manchester United have reignited talks with Napoli and are prepared to meet both the striker’s salary demands and the transfer fee. The Red Devils are reportedly ready to offer Osimhen a €12 million (£10.2m) annual salary and a transfer package worth €75 million (£63.8m), including performance-based bonuses.
With just one year remaining on Osimhen’s contract, Napoli may be forced to cash in on the 26-year-old this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in 2026. Napoli initially signed Osimhen from Lille in 2020 for €78.9 million (£67.2m), meaning a slight loss on the deal appears likely.
Osimhen’s relationship with new Napoli head coach Antonio Conte is reportedly strained beyond repair, especially after the club prioritized Romelu Lukaku in their forward line last season. Despite scoring 76 goals and providing 18 assists in 133 appearances for the Serie A champions, the Nigerian international was sidelined under Conte, fueling speculation about his departure.
Manchester United’s renewed interest could complicate their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres. United boss Erik ten Hag is believed to be weighing up options between the prolific Swede and Osimhen, as Arsenal also push ahead in their chase for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
Osimhen, who won the Serie A Golden Boot in the 2022–23 season with 26 goals, is seen as one of the most lethal strikers in Europe. With Liverpool also previously linked, the summer transfer battle for the Nigerian star is heating up.
Stay tuned as Manchester United accelerate their summer transfer plans with Osimhen emerging as a key target.
