Man United Team News: Amad Diallo, Tyrell Malacia and Casemiro Hand Ruben Amorim Injury Boost Ahead of Sunderland Clash

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has received a triple boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League showdown against Sunderland at Old Trafford, with Amad Diallo, Tyrell Malacia, and Casemiro all available for selection.
Amad Diallo returned to first-team training on Wednesday following an absence due to a family bereavement. The Ivorian attacker missed United’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford last weekend, but Amorim confirmed the club gave him compassionate leave to grieve.
“Someone in his family passed away, so we gave him time off. We are here to support him,” Amorim told reporters.
The 23-year-old, who has contributed one assist in six appearances this season, is now back in contention and could feature against Sunderland, potentially filling in for Diogo Dalot on the right flank.
Also back in training is Dutch defender Tyrell Malacia, who endured a torrid spell on the sidelines after missing the entire 2023-24 campaign with a knee injury that required two surgeries. Despite being linked with a summer move to Turkey, the 24-year-old stayed at Old Trafford and will now compete with Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon for the left-back role.
Meanwhile, Casemiro returns from suspension after sitting out the Brentford game. The Brazilian midfielder’s availability provides a timely boost to Amorim as he looks to stabilize United’s midfield.
However, United will still be without Lisandro Martinez, who is continuing recovery from a long-term knee injury, and right-back Noussair Mazraoui, sidelined with a muscular problem until after the October international break.
With key reinforcements returning, Amorim will be hoping his side can bounce back to winning ways against Sunderland in front of their home supporters.
