Human rights lawyer Ayiwulu Baba Ayiwulu has raised serious concerns over escalating insecurity in Nasarawa State, alleging that areas around Kwara, Kadarko, and Doma have become strongholds for Fulani militants responsible for repeated attacks on local communities.

In a statement to journalists, Ayiwulu described the situation as “a sad and helpless reality,” following the killing of three Migili youths from Duduguru along the Kwara–Gidan Rai road by suspected Fulani gunmen.

He said: “My area of Kwara, Kadarko, and parts of Doma has effectively become a base for Fulani terrorists in Nasarawa State, from which attacks are launched on communities in both Nasarawa and Benue States.”

The lawyer lamented that numerous villages have been abandoned due to the attacks, leaving residents displaced and communities unsafe.

“Communities such as Amurayi, Antsa, Doshima, Agbogio, and Gidan Mdza, located behind the railway line at Kadarko, are now deserted,” he said.

Ayiwulu criticized government authorities for their inaction, describing official silence in the face of repeated killings as “unacceptable and disheartening.”

“People are being killed daily along this axis, yet the government says nothing. Do we have security here? Where are our senators and representatives?” he asked.

Residents of the affected areas also reported frequent gunfire and nighttime raids, calling for urgent military intervention.

As of this report, state officials and security agencies have not responded to the allegations.
