The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) on Thursday ordered the closure of Canalily Estate along Meadow Hall Way in Ikate-Lekki after the estate was found discharging untreated wastewater onto public roads.

The agency said the illegal wastewater release caused overflow into nearby areas, creating a public nuisance, harming the environment, and putting residents’ health at risk.

LSWMO urged residents to report environmental violations via the official hotlines: 08022022397, 07025332163, or through the agency’s social media platforms—@lswmomedia on Instagram and Twitter, and the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office page on Facebook.

The agency emphasized that all property owners and residents must follow proper wastewater management practices and maintain hygiene standards to protect public health and the environment. LSWMO also warned that violations could lead to strict penalties, including legal prosecution.
