A popular hairstylist, Sebastine Timothy, was killed in Lagos’ Satellite Town area, in an incident believed to involve armed assailants or cultists.
According to a police source who requested anonymity, Timothy was attacked shortly after returning home from work on Sunday night along Olasanoye Street. The attackers reportedly broke into his apartment, stole valuables, and forced transfers from his bank account before shooting him in the head. Neighbours who heard gunshots later discovered his lifeless body.
An online platform, Confra Naija, suggested the attack was cult-related, claiming members of the Eiye confraternity had originally targeted Timothy’s brother, alleged to be affiliated with a rival group, Aye. Failing to find him, they allegedly turned on Sebastine, forcing him to unlock his phone, transfer money, and then shooting him.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed Timothy’s death but noted that he sustained a fatal head injury during a confrontation with unidentified men. She added that it remains unclear whether the injury was from a gunshot or a machete, and that the family has reported the case and taken the body to the mortuary.
