Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has reassured families of the abducted students from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, that his administration is fully committed to bringing their children home safely.
Speaking in Maga on Monday after meeting with security agencies, traditional rulers, parents and community leaders, Governor Idris described the attack as tragic and condemned the killing of the school’s Vice Principal.
The governor emphasized that security operatives are working round the clock to locate and rescue the 25 girls taken by armed bandits.
“We came here to see the situation firsthand and to assure the parents that we are doing everything humanly possible to secure the safe return of their children,” he said.
He noted that the visit was aimed at consoling affected families, encouraging residents, and restoring public confidence amid rising fear in the community.
“We urged everyone to remain hopeful. Security agencies are actively working, and we are supporting them to ensure these girls are brought back safely,” he added.
The attack occurred when armed bandits stormed the school in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, killing the Vice Principal and kidnapping 25 students.
