The Kano State Fire Service has warned residents to be extremely careful when handling fire as the harmattan season begins, a period known for a heightened risk of fire outbreaks.
The advisory, signed by Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Service’s Public Relations Officer, follows the official launch of this year’s harmattan fire awareness campaign by Director Alhaji Sani Anas on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, Anas emphasized that the campaign is designed to educate the public on fire hazards during the dry season. He urged residents to adopt caution when using fire, noting that many incidents can be prevented through simple safety practices.
The Director also instructed the Fire Prevention Unit to ramp up public sensitization and ensure that the campaign is effectively implemented across all communities in Kano State.
