The Kaduna State Police Command has issued a public advisory, cautioning residents to stay away from designated areas as a two-day shooting range exercise for police recruits begins on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the training will take place at the Amanan Kasuwa Shooting Range Ground along the Mararaban Jos–Panbegua Road in Igabi Local Government Area.

Hassan urged residents and commuters to avoid the vicinity during the drill, stressing that adequate safety measures have been put in place to prevent accidents.

“The public should not be alarmed by the sound of gunfire during the exercise. The Command has ensured strict safety protocols,” he assured.

The police spokesperson explained that the exercise is designed to enhance the operational readiness of personnel as part of efforts to prepare officers for future security challenges in the state and beyond.

The Command emphasized that the cooperation of residents is vital to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise.
