In a sweeping operation to curb drug trafficking, the Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended 105 suspects during coordinated raids carried out across multiple locations in the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, disclosed this on Tuesday at the police headquarters in Dutse, noting that the raids were conducted simultaneously in identified drug dens and criminal hideouts.

According to him, the large-scale operation resulted in the seizure of more than 5,000 illicit drugs, including cannabis and several psychotropic substances.

Items recovered during the raids included 2,541 units of Exol, 1,146 units of D-5, 270 packs of Tramadol, and over 1,000 wraps of cannabis, including one complete block.

Other confiscated drugs comprised 269 units of Diaxer, 153 Pregabalin capsules, and 82 units of Farin Malam, alongside several others such as Diazepam, Vegakris, and Calidon’s.

The police also seized ₦92,460 in cash and various intoxicants like rubber solution, “suck and die,” and dry gin from the arrested suspects.

SP Adam emphasized that the successful operation demonstrates the command’s commitment to eradicating illegal drug trade in the state.

“This operation sends a clear warning to drug dealers and users that their days are numbered,” he stated, calling on residents to assist security agencies by promptly reporting any suspicious activities.

He further assured that the police would sustain the momentum in their ongoing campaign against drug abuse and trafficking across Jigawa State.
