Jigawa Police Arrest Fake Soldier and Three Suspected Car Thieves After Crash

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to him, the incident occurred on September 8, 2025, around 7:50 a.m., when operatives of the Kafin Hausa Division apprehended three suspects following a lone crash involving a stolen vehicle at Sabon Sara village.
The suspects, all residents of Kano State, were identified as:
- Kabiru Musa, 35, of Rimin Kebe Quarters
- Umar Ali, 25, of Haye Quarters
- Sabiu Bashir, 25, of Tokarawa village
Police said one of them, Kabiru Musa, initially claimed to be Lance Corporal Musa of the 102 Guard Brigade, Abuja, but investigations at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Dutse, revealed he was an impersonator.
Recovered items included:
- Seven ATM cards
- Two driverโs licenses
- A fake military ID card
- Other documents linked to fraudulent dealings
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, commended the officers for their professionalism and assured residents that the command remains committed to flushing out criminals.
โThe Command reiterates its unwavering commitment to rid the state of criminal elements and ensure the safety of lives and property,โ the CP stated, urging the public to support police efforts with credible information.
The suspects have since been arraigned in court following the conclusion of investigations.
