Jadon Sancho Agrees Napoli Move as Manchester United Prepare Major Summer Clearout

June 19, 2025 – Written by SpringnewsNG

Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has reportedly agreed to join Serie A champions Napoli, as new head coach Ruben Amorim prepares for a major squad overhaul this summer. While personal terms are said to be in place, Napoli are yet to reach an agreement with United on the transfer fee, with the Premier League side demanding around £21.3 million.

According to Sky Italia, the Italian giants are also struggling to meet Sancho’s high wage demands, reportedly £300,000 per week, making negotiations more complex despite the player’s willingness to make the move.

Ruben Amorim Planning Attacking Rebuild

With the Red Devils having already completed the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, Amorim is expected to continue reshaping his attacking options. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is also a top target as the club aims to inject pace, creativity, and consistency into its frontline.

United are reportedly searching for a new No. 9, which could significantly impact the future of current striker Rasmus Hojlund, who may fall down the pecking order if a marquee signing arrives.

Why Sancho’s Exit Makes Sense

Jadon Sancho, 25, joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 amid high expectations, but has largely struggled to meet his potential at Old Trafford. After falling out with both Erik ten Hag and Amorim, and spending the 2024/25 season on loan at Chelsea, a permanent departure looks inevitable.

Sancho has failed to register consistent goal contributions and has only surpassed seven league goal involvements once since joining the Red Devils. His lack of form, coupled with high wages, makes him a likely candidate for a summer exit.

More Manchester United Departures Expected

Sancho is not the only high-profile player linked with a move away. Reports suggest Marcus Rashford and Antony are attracting interest from La Liga clubs, while captain Bruno Fernandes has been on the radar of Bayern Munich and several Saudi Pro League teams, although he has so far turned down a move to the Middle East.

With United failing to qualify for European competition, Amorim is expected to operate under a tighter budget. As such, player sales are crucial to funding a squad rebuild that could see multiple big names leave.
