Iran Tensions: Trump Welcomes Hormuz Reopening as Lebanon Ceasefire Holds

United States President Donald Trump has welcomed the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, while stressing that the ongoing ceasefire in Lebanon remains separate from any potential agreement involving Iran.
Trump stated that Israel is “prohibited” from carrying out attacks on Lebanon during the truce, underscoring efforts to maintain calm in the region.
Iran’s Foreign Minister announced that, in line with the ceasefire, commercial vessels are now allowed to pass freely through the Strait of Hormuz for the duration of the agreement.
However, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) noted that ships must still obtain clearance from Iranian authorities and adhere to designated routes while navigating the strategic channel.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah has insisted that the 10-day ceasefire should lead to a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.
Further developments are expected as diplomatic and military dynamics continue to evolve across the region.
