Imo Pastor, Accomplice Arrested for Allegedly Raping Worshipper During Prayer Session
By SpringnewsNG Media Limited August 15,2025 The Imo State Police Command has arrested 32-year-old pastor Ikenna Emmanuel and his alleged accomplice, Franklin Chizoba, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old worshipper under the guise of organising a prayer session for her.
Police spokesman DSP Henry Okoye, in a statement issued in Owerri on Thursday, said Emmanuel, the presiding pastor of Authentic Power City Church and a native of Umuobom, Ideato-South Local Government Area, was implicated in the crime after Chizoba reportedly lured the victim to his residence on June 30, 2025.
According to the police, the pastor allegedly offered the woman a drink laced with drugs, causing her to become dizzy. Both suspects then allegedly took turns assaulting her.
“Following the report, operatives from Orlu Division swiftly apprehended the duo. During interrogation, they confessed to the offence and further admitted to engaging in homosexual acts,” Okoye stated.
He confirmed that the suspects were charged to court on August 12 and remanded at the Owerri Correctional Facility pending trial.
The police urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving religious leaders or individuals in positions of trust.
