Hilda Baci Begins Guinness World Record Attempt for Largest Pot of Jollof Rice in Lagos

Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially launched her bid to break the Guinness World Record for the largest pot of jollof rice, with a target of cooking 250 bags of rice.
The attempt kicked off at Eko Hotel, Lagos, before a lively crowd of fans, supporters, and food enthusiasts. The venue was shifted from Muri Okunola Park to accommodate the overwhelming interest, as more than 20,000 people registered to witness the historic event.
Before the cooking marathon began, Hilda and her mother were seen praying together, asking for divine strength, endurance, and protection — a moment that drew emotional cheers from the audience. Many credited her mother as a strong pillar in her journey.
Sharing her excitement, Hilda posted:
“Yes, I can officially confirm this pot is squeaky clean! I rolled up my sleeves and washed it myself. In just a few hours, this same pot will carry thousands of servings of Nigerian Jollof history in the making.”
Hilda, who gained global recognition in 2023 after breaking the record for the longest cooking marathon, is once again placing Nigerian cuisine on the global stage with this bold attempt.
