Harry Maguire Reportedly Ready to Snub £500k-a-Week Saudi Offer — But Only If Manchester United Meet One Condition

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is reportedly willing to reject a lucrative £500,000-per-week offer from Saudi Arabia — but only if he gets more playing time under new manager Ruben Amorim.

The 32-year-old centre-back, who joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for £80 million, has made 253 appearances for the Red Devils. Despite his long service, his position at the club has often been uncertain, with spells both as a regular starter and as a bench option under different coaches.

With less than a year remaining on his current contract, Maguire faces a crucial decision about his future.

According to reports, Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq are interested in signing the England international, offering a massive weekly wage. However, The Mirror claims that Maguire is only open to the Middle East switch if he continues to struggle for game time at Old Trafford.

So far this season, the former United captain has started just two Premier League games, featuring as a substitute in four others. Sources suggest that Maguire wants assurances of regular first-team football before deciding whether to stay or seek a new challenge abroad.

Manchester United are expected to open contract talks with Maguire in the coming weeks. If no agreement is reached by January, foreign clubs will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with him.

United’s dilemma

While Maguire’s form has fluctuated, his leadership and experience are still valued at Old Trafford — especially with the futures of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes uncertain.

However, manager Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans may not guarantee the defender the consistent minutes he desires, creating a potential standoff over his future.

Finding a balance between Maguire’s playing ambitions and United’s squad restructuring could determine whether the England international remains at the club beyond next summer
