Group Stages Protest Over Rising Insecurity, Vigilante Activities in Anambra

A civil group on Friday staged a protest in Anambra State over rising insecurity and the alleged excesses of local vigilante groups in various communities.

Reacting to the development, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) assured residents that the Command is committed to addressing the concerns raised.

He noted that, in line with its mandate to maintain peace and security, the Police Command will engage relevant security stakeholders and partners to ensure that appropriate actions are taken in accordance with the law and established procedures.

“The Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property, promoting lawful engagement, and working closely with all stakeholders to sustain peace and security in Anambra State,” the DCP said.
