According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Governor Radda gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
Governor Radda expressed deep appreciation for the professionalism and dedication displayed by Nigerian Army troops in restoring peace and stability across the state.
“The remarkable progress achieved in the fight against insecurity is a result of the commitment, courage, and selfless sacrifices of our troops,” he said.
He further thanked the COAS for his consistent support to the soldiers deployed in Katsina and acknowledged his personal visit to the state, which he said boosted troop morale and enhanced operational effectiveness.
Governor Radda also disclosed plans by the Katsina State Government to collaborate with the Nigerian Army to establish an additional military unit within the state, a move aimed at strengthening the security architecture and improving rapid response capacity.
He praised the strong synergy between the Katsina Watch Corps and the Nigerian Army, noting that the effective cooperation between the state government and the 17 Brigade has been instrumental in countering criminal elements.
Responding, Lieutenant General Oluyede thanked Governor Radda for his continued support to the Nigerian Army and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to protecting lives and property in Katsina and across Nigeria.
“The Nigerian Army remains fully dedicated to ensuring peace and stability throughout the country,” the COAS assured.
He also called on residents to sustain their support and cooperation with the troops as they continue to defend communities and maintain law and order.
