Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved a minor shake-up in his cabinet and senior civil service positions as part of efforts to enhance governance and improve service delivery.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, announced the changes in a statement issued late Monday, noting that the adjustments affected strategic ministries including Justice, Transport, Environment, and Humanitarian Affairs.

Under the new arrangement, the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, has been redeployed to lead the Ministry of Transport. Similarly, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Justice Ministry, Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, will now serve as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment.

The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been temporarily overseeing the Transport Ministry, will return to focus fully on humanitarian responsibilities.

Governor Yusuf directed the officials involved in the reshuffle to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries and ensure the process is completed by Tuesday, September 23.

According to the statement, the governor emphasized that the realignment is designed to strengthen the government’s capacity to deliver on its commitments to the people of Kano State.
