Gombe Police Storm Criminal Hideout, Seize Large Cache of Hard Drugs

The Gombe State Police Command has uncovered and raided a suspected criminal hideout located behind the Gombe Local Government Shopping Complex, recovering large quantities of illicit drugs during the operation.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the operation, which took place around 9:00 p.m. on October 10, 2025, was part of the command’s intensified efforts to combat drug abuse and related crimes across the state.
Abdullahi revealed that upon sighting the approaching patrol team, the suspects fled the scene, abandoning several bags and containers filled with various illegal substances.
He listed the recovered items to include quantities of “Suck and Die,” Tramadol, and Diazepam tablets, all of which have been secured as exhibits for ongoing investigation.
The police spokesperson noted that detectives are currently working to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects connected to the illicit activities.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahaya, commended the operatives for their swift and effective response, emphasizing the command’s unwavering commitment to eliminating drug-related crimes in the state.
He further warned criminal elements to desist from all forms of wrongdoing, stressing that the command will continue to pursue and prosecute offenders until Gombe becomes entirely crime-free.
