Agbor, Delta State, was thrown into chaos on Sunday afternoon following a devastating fuel tanker explosion that claimed lives, injured others, and caused significant property damage.
The tragedy unfolded along the old Lagos-Asaba Road, near First Bank and Access Bank, when a petrol-laden tanker reportedly lost control and overturned. The resulting explosion sent flames roaring through the area, engulfing the tanker and nearby structures.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic and harrowing, with panicked residents fleeing in all directions to escape the inferno. “It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with the people of Ika South Local Government and the affected families. This tragic incident is deeply saddening. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones at this difficult time,” the statement read.
