Former Fenerbahçe Star Hails Victor Osimhen as the Greatest Striker in Turkish Super Lig History

Former Fenerbahçe forward, Serhat Akın, has declared Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the greatest centre-forward ever to play in the Turkish Super Lig.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan last season, delivered an outstanding performance throughout the campaign, registering 45 goal contributions in 41 appearances across all competitions.
The 26-year-old played a key role in helping Galatasaray clinch both the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup, earning widespread admiration for his strength, speed, and clinical finishing.
Speaking in an interview with Habersarikirmizi, Akın praised the Super Eagles star for his incredible impact and consistency.
“Osimhen is a phenomenal player — truly extraordinary,” Akın said. “In my opinion, he’s the best striker ever to feature in this league. His work rate, power, and goal sense are unmatched.”
He also compared Osimhen to Galatasaray’s Argentine forward Mauro Icardi, acknowledging both players’ brilliance but emphasizing Osimhen’s uniqueness.
“Icardi is a natural goalscorer who has achieved great success here, but Osimhen brings a different energy and dimension. If I were a manager, I’d dream of having him lead my attack,” Akın added.
