Fish out illegal miners, bandits in your locality’- Oyo govt tells LG chairmen, traditional rulers
The Oyo State Government says it has zero tolerance for criminals and criminality, stressing that it will do anything to ensure the safety of the state’s residents.
This is as the State government admonished local government chairmen and traditional rulers across the state to go after illegal miners, bandits, and land grabbers in their various domains
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Olusegun Olayiwola issued the admonition on Monday.
He spoke after a closed-door meeting with local government chairmen in the state.
He implored the local government chairmen and traditional rulers to work together to ensure that their domains are safe
According to him: “One major point that was extensively discussed today is the issue of the security of lives and property in Oyo State.
“You will recall that about three weeks ago, there was an explosion at Bodija, Ibadan, which eventually turned out to be a result of illegal activities of some miners, who were not supposed to keep explosives in residential areas
