The fire that razed a two-storey building in the Idumagbo area of Lagos State on Monday affected two warehouses.

The Lagos Coordinator,  National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, in a chat with our correspondent, said the fire was put out by a combined effort of the state and federal fire services.

He revealed that no life was lost nor were injuries recorded in the incident.

Farinloye said, “The state and federal fire services are working on it. The fire has been contained and prevented from spreading to other buildings. It was put out about an hour ago. It was just one store that was affected. Nobody was trapped, injured or affected in any way

On the cause of the fire, Farinloye said it would be ascertained after the conclusion of the operation.

Asked if goods were lost, he said, “Definitely. It was a warehouse that was involved.”

However, the Head of Public Education, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Amodu Shakiru, said two warehouses were affected.

He said, “There was no casualty and the fire had been put out. It involved a two-storey building. The fire started on the second floor of the two-storey building and spread to the first floor but we were able to contain it before it spread further
